Oxford Community Action

Our weekly bike training sessions for women, men and children continue to be a great success! Thirty families have now gone through our programme, learned how to ride safely, and left with new skills and refurbished bikes.
We have so many success stories to share. From families who have gone on their long-anticipated first shared bike ride, our participant Sharifa Sulemelman zipping back and forth between Blackbird Leys and Barton, our OCA mum Shaista Nazneen zooming around town on a loan electric bike, our very own Hassan Sabrie clocking 120 miles on his new bike in just ten days …
We get so much joy from making Oxford more accessible to our communities, and seeing the joy and pride on their faces. We hope to share some of that joy with you through the pictures.
All of this is only possible because of the support of our amazing volunteers and partners. Massive shoutouts to Jennifer from Cyclability Oxford (https://www.cyclability.org/) for the wonderful cycling sessions, facilities and equipment, Laura and Annette from Avanti Cycling for stellar cycling training, OCA’s Michael and Hassan for their enthusiasm and organising energy, Active Oxfordshire and our county councillors Imade Edosomwan, Mohamed Fadlalla, Damian Haywood, and Charlie Hicks for the financial support.
HOW TO JOIN: get in touch with us via email [email protected] or via WhatsApp 07412537961. We have sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
