Another 390 food parcels delivered this week. โœŠ๐ŸฟโœŠ๐ŸพโœŠ๐Ÿป
We were incredibly touched to receive a message from a first-time recipient thanking us ‘for the immense food packages you delivered to us last night, you have no idea how much that means to this family at this trying time’. Thank you for this kind message!
The story of this family is a reminder to all of us to stay safe, stay home when we can, and to keep supporting each other. When the teenagers recently got infected with Covid, it was a very scary moment for the whole family as Covid spread across the household. We were very grateful that they reached out to us for food deliveries during their self-isolation period. Approaching others for help can be such a difficult thing. It’s more important than ever though that we stick together, connect, and organise. ๐Ÿค๐ŸฟโœŠ๐Ÿพ
Like so many others, the family will continue to require additional support even after their self-isolation period ends. Both adults have underlying health issues and do not feel safe shopping in the Christmas rush. Their story has reminded us that we can make a difference to our local communities on a daily basis – simply by minimizing the time we spend in public spaces. This way, our public spaces become safer for everyone, and especially those most affected by the pandemic.
Stay safe everyone, and much love from OCA.

PS. As ever, a final massive thanks to our volunteers. Without their continuous work since March, none of this would be possible.
