Oxford Community Action acknowledges the tremendous support we have received this Summer from Azul Corcoran Strong and Leonard Sackey in their roles as Officers with Oxford City Council. We appreciate Azul and Leonard’s commitment to working in partnership with diverse communities and grass-roots community groups particularly as demonstrated in their hard work supporting the recent Grand Iftar. The Grand Iftar event held during Ramadan was a collaborative community effort which enabled 2,300 people to receive a meal during the Covid-19 lockdown. In addition to supporting the Grand Iftar event, Azul and Leonard have played an important part in assisting Oxford Community Action to develop the Covid-19 emergency food redistribution point at City College Oxford in Cowley with Oxford Community Action’s volunteers reaching over 300 families (and growing) every week with emergency food packages which are a vital lifeline during these uncertain times. A Big Thanks from Oxford Community Action to Azul and Leonard for their positive and exemplary support!
