Oxford Community Action

For many of us, the outdoors is a place of recreation, discovery, and wonder. But not all of us are made to feel equally comfortable when we hike and camp in the British countryside. Tomorrow, we’ll be talking at Marmalade Festival 2023 about the particular challenges black and brown communities face in participating in these activities. And we’ll present how our community projects – our group hikes and scout activities – are trying to change this state of affairs.
Bring your experiences, ideas, friends and family for our group discussion and join us at the Old Fire Station, Oxford, next Thursday, 13 April, 6-8 pm.
This event is part of Marmalade Festival 2023, which takes place in 6 venues across Oxford from 11 to 14 April.
The festival is hosting over 90 events including discussions, performances, film screenings and much more. Topics will include how to learn, homelessness, young people and mental health amongst other subjects.
