Oxford Community Action

Today, Oxford Community Action reached another milestone – we now redistribute surplus food to over 400 families thoughout Oxford. This is despite the DEFRA funding running out which has impacting our supply chain with Oxford Food Bank drastically.
Our amazing community champions keep identifying more and more households that have been impacted by covid-19 – oftentimes, they are families or households who already struggled pre-covid, but were ignored or forgotten about until covid shone some light on these issues.
Our platform was designed to bring together resources, to help one another to create real community cohesion throughout. Today, we saw many volunteers from EMBS Community College, thanks to Shabnam Sabir – which helped our usual crew tremendously! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This allowed us to finish much earlier than usual, much to the delight of our head volunteer Angelica Cizmadia!
We’d also love to give a special shout out to our regular volunteers, Oussama, Hassan Mohammed, Saif Said, Mori Rei, Rachel Hamilton and Selma but also to our new volunteers too – Omotude and Bertha – welcome to the team!
